I had a very rewarding stay at Rajaprajanugrah35 orphan school. Mui
drove me to the school on Sunday afternoon. Teaching and spending time at an orphan school is an accomplishment I longed for since my initial visit to Thailand 5 years ago. I did not realize an orphan school
would admit me until I volunteered with OMP.

I wanted to live at the
orphan school because I wanted to experience a taste of Thai culture.
My first full day at the school was a Holiday which gave me time to
get to know some of the students. I can not tell which students were
most special to me as all my students were special in their own way.
My first day day of teaching was sort of a culture shock to me. There
was the morning assembly, I was called on to introduce myself, I also
was amazed to receive a good morning greeting in every class from the
students. I taught grades 1, 2, and 3 English. Since I stayed at the
school it was not any bother for me work with Nora, a Thai teacher,
teaching English to her students for extra credit in the evening. I
had an easy time preparing for classes. I had ten months to accumulate
excellent English text and workbooks. I brought superb material for
grades 1, 2, and 3 such as books with picture words, colors, shapes,
sizes, phonics, and flash cards with first words, ABC, numbers, etc.
On the weekends a lot of students loved to watch DVD movies and play
games on my notebook computer. I went to some of the schools
foot-ball games. , children day activity, foot-ball win celebration
party, and I also went to two Thai weddings. Most of the students
really hated to see me leave. I really hated to leave myself. One of
the students wrote me a letter. The letter went as follows:

To. Harry
I would like to think you for everything.
You are like as my family. Please do not forget me.
Thank you Tsunami for making you come to me
Thank you for the time to make me love you.
Forget me not
I can not stop love you.
